Passkeys

Sign in with your fingerprint, face or device PIN instead of a password.

A passkey lets you sign in without typing a password. It is stored on your device or in your password manager.

Before you start: Your browser must support passkeys, or the card says "This browser doesn't support passkeys." You must have signed in within the last 10 minutes.

Add a passkey

  1. Open Account security.
  2. In Passkeys, click Add passkey.
  3. Give it a Name so you recognise it later, for example "MacBook Touch ID". If you leave it blank it is called "Passkey".
  4. Click Continue and approve on your device. A message confirms "Passkey added".

Sign in with a passkey

On the sign-in page, click Sign in with a passkey. See Sign in. A passkey sign-in does not ask for a two-factor code, because the device check already counts as two factors.

Remove a passkey

Click Remove next to it. It is removed at once, without a confirmation. Each passkey shows when it was added and last used.
