Send a message
Send one message from Messaging or from a record, and see what happens to it.
Send an email, SMS or WhatsApp message to one person, either on its own or about a record.
Before you start: You need Messaging at Can send or higher, and at least one connected account that is not disabled. If there is none, the dialog says "No account connected" and tells you to connect one under Channels.
Send from Messaging
- Open Messaging › Activity.
- Click Send a message.
- Under Send through, pick an account. Each is listed as name, provider and channel.
- Optionally pick a Template. The list shows templates for that account's channel. Leave it on Write it here for a one-off message. Some providers only send approved templates, and the helper text says so.
- Enter To. Use an email address, or a phone number in international format such as
+919876543210. - For a one-off message, enter the Subject (email only) and the Message.
- Click Send.
Send from a record
- Open a record and choose its Messages tab.
- Click Send a message.
- The dialog works the same way, with the record's type shown as a badge. Leave To blank to use the address on the record. Templates are limited to ones for that record type or with no type, and they can use the record's values.
The tab lists everything sent about that record, with the status of each. If a message failed, the provider's own message is passed through unchanged. Without Can send you can still see the log, but not the button. An empty tab says "Nothing sent yet".
Which address is used: an address you type always wins. Otherwise AxisIQ looks on the record for a field with the key email for email, or phone, mobile, contact or whatsapp for SMS and WhatsApp, in that order. If you cannot read that field, the record has no address for you.
What happens next
- The dialog stays open on Handing the message to … until the provider answers.
- On its way means the provider accepted it. Delivery status appears in Activity as your provider reports it.
- Not sent means the address is on your suppression list. See Suppressions and unsubscribe.
- … refused it shows the provider's error.
- Click Done.
Every message, however it was sent, lands in the Activity log. This includes messages sent from flows and functions.
The delivery log
- Channel and Status filters narrow the list.
- Click a row to open Message: to, from, channel, provider, sent and delivered times, status and any error, subject and body.
- Right-click a row for View message, Copy message ID and Copy recipient.
