AxisIQ for food and beverage brands
AxisIQ tracks food brands' orders, batch and expiry stock, FSSAI numbers, COD vs prepaid and RTO, and Blinkit, Zepto and Instamart channels in one place.
AxisIQ is a live operations workspace for food and beverage brands selling online: products and pack variants, orders from your website, marketplaces and quick-commerce apps like Blinkit, Zepto and Instamart, stock per warehouse with batch and expiry once you add them, courier shipments, COD and prepaid payments and the settlements each channel sends back. It starts from the D2C & E-commerce template, set up in seconds at signup, and Ask Axis adds what a food business needs on top — an FSSAI licence number, batch and best-before dates, a perishable flag.

What makes food operations different
Shelf life sets the clock. Coffee, snacks, sauces, health foods and beverages all carry a best-before date, and stock that is fine today is a write-off in three months. Quick-commerce dark stores and marketplace warehouses refuse inbound stock below a minimum remaining shelf life, so a brand has to know, per warehouse, which batch is on the shelf and when it expires — before the purchase order or the stock transfer is raised.
Compliance travels with the product. The FSSAI licence number has to be on the label, on invoices and in every marketplace listing, and the manufacturer you buy from has its own licence and GSTIN. When a customer complaint comes in, the first question is which batch it was.
COD hurts more on food. A refused parcel of cookies or cold-pressed oil often cannot go back on sale after a week in transit and a hot courier van. Brands push hard towards prepaid — a discount for prepaid, a payment link before dispatch, COD switched off for some pincodes — and need to see RTO by payment mode to know whether it is working.
And the channel mix is shifting: your own site and Amazon, plus Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy Instamart, which buy in bulk, pay on their own cycles and deduct their own fees.
How the template covers it
- Product holds name, category, MRP, selling and cost price, a computed Unit margin, HSN code and GST rate (0, 5, 12, 18 or 28 per cent — food spans most of them). Variant is the pack you sell, with SKU, barcode and price.
- Supplier records your co-packer or manufacturer with GSTIN, payment terms and lead time; Purchase orders (auto-numbered, with a ready Purchase order PDF for the supplier) and PO lines track what was ordered and received.
- Stock level counts each variant at each warehouse — on hand, reserved, computed Available, reorder level and last-counted date.
- Order carries payment mode (prepaid or COD) and payment status. The template's flow opens a Support ticket for every COD order so it is confirmed before packing.
- Shipment holds the AWB, courier and status; when it goes
rto_initiateda flow flags the order RTO, and delivered shipments close their orders. Courier partner records whether COD is supported and the service (including hyperlocal). - Settlement records each payout — gateway, marketplace or COD remittance — with gross, fees and commission and a computed Net amount.
For COD, Invoices & Payments can send a Razorpay payment link from your own account before dispatch; a paid link comes back as a payment record beside the order, and the order's payment mode can be switched to prepaid. See Payments.
What to ask Ask Axis to add
Food brands typically make these changes in their first session. Ask in plain words:
- "Add an FSSAI licence number field to products and to suppliers."
- "Add batch number, manufacturing date and best-before date to stock levels."
- "Add a perishable checkbox and a shelf life in days to products."
- "Add Blinkit, Zepto and Instamart as order channels and as settlement sources."
- "Add a dashboard table of stock with a best-before date in the next 60 days."
- "Add a widget comparing RTO rate for COD and prepaid orders over the last 30 days."
- "Add a quick-commerce purchase order type for bulk orders from Blinkit and Zepto, with a minimum shelf-life field."
Ask Axis changes the live workspace under your permissions and confirms before anything destructive. The template's two PDF layouts can carry it too: ask for your FSSAI number on the Order summary and the supplier's on the Purchase order. See Ask Axis.
One honest limit
AxisIQ does not file GST returns, generate e-invoices (IRN) or e-way bills, and it does not hold or verify FSSAI registrations — it stores the licence number you enter. Quick-commerce purchase orders and payouts come in by CSV import or by hand; there is no built-in connection to Blinkit, Zepto or Instamart.
FAQ
Can AxisIQ track expiry dates for food products? Yes, once added — ask Ask Axis for batch and best-before fields on stock levels and a dashboard table of what expires soonest, per warehouse.
Where do I store our FSSAI licence number? Ask Ask Axis to add an FSSAI licence field to products and suppliers, and to print the numbers on the template's Order summary and Purchase order PDFs.
How does AxisIQ help reduce COD returns? Every COD order opens a confirmation ticket before packing, you can send a payment link to make it prepaid, and RTO by payment mode is one query.
Can I manage Blinkit, Zepto and Instamart orders in AxisIQ? As records: add them as order channels and settlement sources, and bring orders and payouts in by CSV import or by hand. There is no direct connector.
