AxisIQ vs Zoho ERP
Zoho ERP leads on GST compliance and app breadth; AxisIQ offers one live model with an assistant that acts under permissions and an AI-built workspace.
AxisIQ and Zoho ERP both aim at Indian companies that have outgrown Tally and spreadsheets, and both put AI at the centre. The difference is in what each is built around. Zoho ERP, launched in January 2026, is a full ERP from one of India's best-known software companies, with GST compliance, Zia AI and the wider Zoho suite behind it. AxisIQ is business operating intelligence: one live model of your company, set up by AI in a conversation, with Axis, an assistant that answers questions and does the work under each person's permissions. If statutory compliance inside the same product is non-negotiable, Zoho ERP is the stronger fit today; if you want an assistant doing real work across one model of the business, AxisIQ is worth a look.
What Zoho ERP is
Zoho launched Zoho ERP in January 2026 and positions it as an AI-native ERP for India, aimed at businesses that have outgrown Tally. It sits alongside Zoho's long-running products, including Zoho Books, Zoho Inventory, Zoho CRM and the Zoho One bundle.
On the AI side, Zoho has built its own large language model, Zia LLM, hosted in India, and offers prebuilt Zia agents, a prompt-based Agent Studio for building custom agents, MCP support and an agent marketplace across its products. In Zoho ERP, "Ask Zia" lets people query business data in natural language.
Where Zoho ERP wins
Zoho is a serious choice and in several areas the better one:
- GST and statutory compliance. Zoho's finance products support Indian GST workflows. AxisIQ has no GST e-invoicing, e-way bills, GST return filing or TDS.
- Breadth of apps. Zoho covers areas AxisIQ does not, including HR and payroll through the wider suite, plus a long list of specialised apps.
- ERP depth in areas like manufacturing. If you need bills of materials and production planning, Zoho ERP is designed to cover ERP modules that AxisIQ does not have.
- Brand, scale and local presence. Zoho is a large Indian company with a long track record, a big customer base, partners across the country and an established review footprint. AxisIQ is new.
- Its own AI stack. An India-hosted LLM, prebuilt agents and a custom agent builder are substantial. "AxisIQ has AI and Zoho does not" would be untrue.
Where AxisIQ is different
One live model, not a set of apps to connect
AxisIQ is one database per organisation. Your record types (orders, stock items, customers, suppliers, jobs, whatever you run on) sit beside built-in invoices, payments, accounts and locations, a double-entry ledger, work queues, POS, spreadsheets, forms, documents and messaging. They are not separate products sharing data through integrations; a question that spans orders, stock and dues is one query.
Reviewers of Zoho's suite often mention that connecting its many apps takes real setup work. AxisIQ avoids the problem by having only one model from the start.
An assistant that acts, under your rules
Many ERPs now have agents, Zoho included, so "we have AI" is not the point. What matters is what the assistant may do and how it is held to account. In AxisIQ:
- Axis acts as the person asking. It inherits their role, field masking and conditions. A store manager cannot use Axis to see salaries or margins they cannot see on screen.
- Guarded actions stop and ask. Payment links, outbound email, SMS and WhatsApp, invitations and destructive changes end with "go ahead?". The approval is single-use and covers exactly that action; change anything and Axis asks again.
- Everything is audited. Each change lands in an append-only audit trail with who asked for it.
- It does real work. Axis creates and updates records, adds fields and record types, builds flows and roles, runs analytics, searches your knowledge base, sends messages through your own providers, creates Razorpay payment links and generates PDFs.
See Ask Axis and permissions.
The AI builds your workspace
With most ERPs, including Zoho's, the product is configured by your team or a partner. AxisIQ's AI workspace builder interviews the owner about how the business actually runs and then builds the workspace: typically 7–10 apps, 25–45 record types with fields, roles, automations, a home dashboard and optional example data. The first 60 setup turns are free. It is shaped around your business rather than a module list, and you keep changing it afterwards in plain English.
WhatsApp, SMS and email from your own accounts
Indian customers expect reminders and updates on WhatsApp. AxisIQ sends WhatsApp messages through the company's own Meta WhatsApp Cloud API account (template-based, as Meta requires), SMS through providers such as MSG91 with DLT templates or Twilio, and email through SES, SendGrid, SMTP and others. The sending reputation and the provider bill stay yours, delivery is tracked, and bounces and opt-outs are honoured on every send, whether a person, a flow or Axis sends it: "send this week's overdue customers a payment reminder" is one request, confirmed before it goes.
Analytics without a separate BI tool
Ask in English and Axis writes the SQL, or write it yourself, against the live database with each person's field masking applied. Reports are pages of charts, tables and metrics, and you can join external MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB or JSON API sources with AxisIQ data in one query. See analytics.
Pricing shaped for teams
AxisIQ plans are flat monthly rupee prices with users included, plus low-cost Operational seats for warehouse, floor and counter staff. Price is not the reason to choose either product, but the model differs from per-user pricing. See pricing.

When AxisIQ is not the right choice
Choose Zoho ERP, or keep your current setup, if any of these decide it for you:
- You need GST compliance inside the same system. AxisIQ has no e-invoicing (IRN), e-way bills, GST return filing or TDS, and no Tally sync. Many companies keep Tally or their CA's tool for compliance and run operations elsewhere, but if you want one product for both, AxisIQ is not it.
- You need payroll, HR or attendance.
- You manufacture to bills of materials and need MRP or production planning.
- You need native mobile apps or offline use. AxisIQ is a responsive web app.
- You need a vendor with certifications or a long track record. AxisIQ has no SOC 2 or ISO certification yet.
- You want a large partner and app ecosystem.
Who tends to choose AxisIQ
AxisIQ suits growing companies of roughly 15–200 people whose pain is operational rather than statutory: distributors juggling orders, stock and collections (wholesale and distribution), D2C brands running Shopify or WooCommerce alongside warehouses and ads (D2C brands), service and field teams (field services) and job shops tracking work through stages with barcode scans (smart queues). They are comfortable keeping compliance with their CA and want the rest of the business in one place, with an assistant their team actually uses.

How to evaluate both
Run the same test on each: pick three questions your team asks every week and three tasks someone does by hand, and see how far each product gets on your own data in the trial period. With AxisIQ, start a 14-day trial with no card, let the workspace builder set things up, import a CSV of real orders or stock, and ask Axis the questions. If you would rather see it first, book a demo.
FAQ
Is AxisIQ an alternative to Zoho ERP? For growing Indian companies whose main need is running operations, money and customers in one place with an AI assistant that does the work, yes. If you need GST e-invoicing, e-way bills, payroll or manufacturing MRP in the same product, Zoho ERP covers more today.
Does AxisIQ handle GST filing like Zoho? No. AxisIQ does not do GST e-invoicing, e-way bills, return filing or TDS. Keep Tally or your CA's existing tool for compliance and run operations in AxisIQ.
How is AxisIQ's AI different from Zoho Zia? Both offer natural-language questions and agents. AxisIQ's Axis works on one database for the whole business, always acts with the asking person's permissions, stops for an explicit single-use approval before money, messages or destructive changes. It also builds your workspace during onboarding.
Can AxisIQ import data from Zoho? Yes, through CSV export and import: export records from Zoho and import up to 500 rows per file into any AxisIQ record type. There is no direct Zoho connector.
Is Zoho ERP or AxisIQ better for a distributor? If GST compliance must live in the same system, Zoho ERP. If your pain is orders, stock across locations, collections and keeping the team on top of them, AxisIQ's single model and assistant fit well, with compliance kept with your CA.
