AxisIQ for rooftop solar installers
AxisIQ runs rooftop solar EPC and O&M: inverters and panels by serial, O&M contracts, cleaning schedules, generation complaints and installation quotes.
AxisIQ is operations software for rooftop solar EPC and O&M companies in India: every installed inverter and panel string recorded by serial number at its site, O&M contracts with cleaning and PM schedules, generation complaints with an SLA, technician job cards, spares, OEM warranty claims and quotations for new installations, in one live workspace. It starts from the Field Service & AMC template, set up in seconds at signup, and Ask Axis adapts it to how your solar business runs.

How a rooftop solar business actually runs
A rooftop solar company sells twice. First the installation: a site survey, a quotation for panels, inverter, structure and wiring, and a project that ends with a commissioned system. Then the years after, where the real relationship sits — an O&M contract with panel cleaning every month or quarter, periodic inspections, and the calls that start "generation is low" or "the inverter shows an error".
Both halves depend on knowing exactly what is on each roof. A residential society, a factory shed and a school can each have different inverter makes, panel models and capacities, installed on different dates with different warranty periods. When an inverter fails in year three, the questions are immediate: whose warranty is it under, which serial number goes back to the manufacturer, and is the visit covered by O&M or chargeable? Spreadsheets of installations kept by the projects team and cleaning schedules kept by the O&M supervisor rarely agree on those answers.
How the template covers it
- Equipment records each inverter, panel array or battery bank under its Site and Customer, with Serial number, make, model, Capacity (in kW or kWp), installed on and Warranty till. Category starts as solar rooftop; Ask Axis can split it into inverter, panel and battery.
- Quotation of type new installation carries Quote lines with HSN/SAC, quantity and unit price, and a computed total with GST, numbered QT-2610-0007 automatically and sent as the Quotation PDF — which shows the totals, not each line. Repair and renewal quotes use the same type.
- AMC contract is your O&M contract: comprehensive or not, start and end, PM visits per year (set it to 12 for monthly cleaning), Response SLA (hours) and contract value; Covered equipment lists what the contract covers.
- PM visit due rows hold every cleaning and inspection visit, assigned to a technician; a completed preventive Job card marks the visit done.
- Service request takes enquiries from the Book an installation form (what you need installed, name, mobile, address) as well as generation complaints — low output, error code, no power — with priority and SLA due, linked to the exact equipment.
- New requests enter the Technician dispatch queue. A Job card of type installation records commissioning visits, printed as the Job card / service report PDF; breakdown cards record repairs with Part used lines from the Spare part catalogue (panels, batteries, PCBs).
- Warranty claim sends a failed inverter or panel back to the manufacturer and tracks it to credited.
The Service overview dashboard shows open complaints, SLA breached, visits today and O&M contracts up for renewal. See automation for the flows that keep visits and complaints in step.
What to ask Ask Axis to add
Solar installers usually ask for changes like these:
- "Split equipment category into inverter, panel string and battery, and add panel count and DC capacity."
- "Add an Installation project type with stages survey, design, material dispatched, installed, commissioned, linked to the accepted quotation."
- "Add a Generation reading type — site, date, kWh — and a dashboard chart of generation per site." Readings are entered or imported by CSV.
- "When a new installation quotation is accepted, create an installation job card for the same site."
- "Create the year's monthly cleaning visits when an O&M contract becomes active."
Ask Axis makes each change in your live workspace under your permissions and confirms before anything destructive. See Ask Axis and importing data by CSV.
One honest limit
AxisIQ does not connect to inverter monitoring portals — generation data is not pulled automatically from your inverters, so readings come in by hand or CSV import. It also does not file net-metering or DISCOM applications or subsidy claims; you can record their status on a project, but the filing happens on the DISCOM and government portals. Technicians use the web app in a phone browser, with no GPS tracking, route optimisation or offline mode.
FAQ
What software do rooftop solar installers in India use for O&M? Many run O&M on spreadsheets and WhatsApp. AxisIQ keeps installed equipment by serial number, O&M contracts, cleaning schedules, complaints and job cards linked in one workspace.
Can AxisIQ track inverter and panel serial numbers per site? Yes. Each inverter or panel array is an equipment record at its site with serial number, model, capacity, install date and warranty date.
Does AxisIQ monitor solar generation? No. It has no inverter monitoring integration; generation complaints are logged as service requests, and readings can be kept as records entered or imported by CSV.
Can we schedule monthly panel cleaning under O&M contracts? Yes. Each contract's visits are PM visit rows with due dates and technicians, and a completed preventive job card marks the visit done.
Can AxisIQ make quotations for new solar installations? Yes — quotations with HSN/SAC lines and GST, sent as a PDF showing the totals. Homeowners can also ask for one through the Book an installation form. Net-metering and subsidy filing stay outside AxisIQ.
