AxisIQ vs NetSuite
AxisIQ is a NetSuite alternative for single Indian companies that need orders, stock and money running fast, not multi-subsidiary consolidation.
AxisIQ is a NetSuite alternative for growing Indian companies that need one live system for orders, stock, customers and money, but not a global multi-subsidiary ERP and the implementation that comes with it. Oracle NetSuite is a mature cloud ERP for scaling companies, strongest where there are several legal entities, currencies and countries to consolidate, and usually implemented through partners. AxisIQ is a hosted platform where an AI builds the workspace in a conversation with the owner, and an assistant called Axis answers questions and does work on live records under each person's permissions. If you are building a multinational group, NetSuite fits; if you are a single Indian company that wants to run better quickly, AxisIQ is the lighter fit.
The comparison below is honest about both, because the wrong choice either way is expensive.
Where NetSuite wins
NetSuite has a long track record as cloud ERP, and its strengths are real.
- Multi-subsidiary, multi-currency consolidation. Running several legal entities across countries, with intercompany transactions, currency revaluation and consolidated statements in one system, is what NetSuite is known for. AxisIQ has one organisation per company, no consolidation, and stores currency per value with no automatic FX conversion.
- Financial close and revenue processes. Mature accounting, close management and revenue recognition options that finance teams and auditors already know.
- Breadth. Inventory, procurement, order management, manufacturing options, CRM and ecommerce, all from one vendor.
- Country localisation. Statutory and tax localisations for many countries, including India. AxisIQ has no GST e-invoicing, e-way bills, return filing or TDS.
- Ecosystem. Partners, consultants, SuiteApps and developers who know the platform, so unusual requirements usually have a known answer.
- Investor and auditor familiarity. For a company preparing for funding rounds or expansion abroad, a recognised ERP can make due diligence easier.
- Certifications. Oracle's cloud carries the security certifications that enterprise procurement asks for. AxisIQ holds no SOC 2 or ISO certification today.
The structural difference: an implementation versus a conversation
A NetSuite go-live is a project. A partner or Oracle's own services team scopes the requirements, configures subsidiaries, the chart of accounts, items, roles and workflows, migrates data and trains users. Customisation beyond configuration is done in SuiteScript by developers. The software is cloud-hosted, but getting it to fit still takes people and time.
AxisIQ replaces that project with the AI workspace builder. It interviews the owner about what the company sells, stocks, buys and chases, then builds the workspace: typically 7 to 10 apps and 25 to 45 record types with fields, roles, automations and a home dashboard, with optional example data to test against. You change it by asking, and the first 60 setup turns are free. Later changes, such as a new field or approval step, are made by the person who owns the process, not raised with a consultant.
Modules versus one live model
NetSuite is a unified suite: one database, with record types for sales orders, items, vendors and the rest, extended through custom fields, custom records and scripts. It is designed for the full range of companies NetSuite sells to, so a growing company typically uses a fraction of it and configures around the remainder.
AxisIQ is built only from what your business needs. Its records are your own types, named in your vocabulary, alongside built-in invoices, payments, the chart of accounts and locations. Everything reads the one model: search, filters, CSV import and export, analytics, permissions, flows, Axis Sheets and the assistant. Add a field and all of them see it at once.
AI features versus an assistant that does the work
NetSuite's recent releases add AI throughout the suite: natural-language questions about your data, AI agents and tools for building AI into workflows. For a NetSuite customer that is a meaningful step, so the difference here is not "AI versus no AI".
The difference is how Axis is designed. Axis is one assistant over one model, used in plain English,. It answers ("which invoices from Bengaluru customers are unpaid past 45 days?"), runs analytics, and does the work: creating and updating records, building fields and flows, generating PDFs, sending messages and payment links. It works under strict rules:
- The asking person's permissions apply, including field-level masking. Axis cannot reveal or change anything that person could not.
- Guarded actions wait for a yes. Money, outbound messages, invitations and destructive changes stop with a "go ahead?" question. The approval is single-use and covers exactly that action.
- Everything goes into the audit trail, the same append-only log as a person's changes.
NetSuite vs AxisIQ side by side
| NetSuite | AxisIQ | |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Scaling companies, often multi-entity and multinational | Growing Indian companies of roughly 15 to 200 people |
| Getting started | Partner or vendor implementation | An AI interview that builds the workspace |
| Customising | Configuration, custom records, SuiteScript | Record types and fields by asking; JavaScript functions where code is needed |
| AI | Natural-language queries, agents, AI tooling | Axis answers and acts under the user's permissions, with confirmations |
| Multi-subsidiary consolidation, FX | Yes | No |
| Indian GST e-invoicing, e-way bills, TDS | Localisation available | No |
| Manufacturing | Available | No MRP or production planning |
| Certifications | Enterprise cloud certifications | None today |
| Payments in India | Through integrations | Razorpay payment links (UPI, cards, netbanking, wallets) settled into payment records |
| Data location | Oracle's cloud regions | One isolated database per organisation, hosted in India |
When AxisIQ is not the right choice
- You run, or soon will run, several legal entities that need consolidation. AxisIQ cannot consolidate or convert currencies, and that is not a gap you can work around.
- You need statutory compliance from the ERP. No GST e-invoicing, e-way bills, return filing, TDS or Tally sync.
- Your board or investors expect a recognised ERP, or procurement requires SOC 2 or ISO certification.
- You manufacture and plan production, or run payroll in-house.
- Your team needs offline access or native mobile apps. AxisIQ is a responsive web app without offline mode.
- NetSuite is already implemented and working. A migration then buys simplicity and an assistant; weigh that against the cost of moving.
How switching from NetSuite works
- Describe the business to the workspace builder. Explain which parts of NetSuite your team actually uses and what lives in spreadsheets around it. The trial is 14 days with no card.
- Export from NetSuite. Saved searches export to CSV. Start with customers, vendors, items and locations.
- Import in batches of up to 500 rows per CSV file, with your field validation applied. Then bring open orders and open invoices. See the CSV migration guide.
- Post opening balances into the double-entry ledger as opening entries.
- Keep compliance and any group reporting where it is, and move day-to-day operations once a full cycle reconciles.

FAQ
What is a good NetSuite alternative for an Indian company? For a single Indian company that mainly runs orders, stock, customers, invoices and payments, AxisIQ is a lighter alternative: an AI builds the workspace from a conversation, and the Axis assistant does work under each user's permissions. For multi-entity consolidation or statutory compliance from the ERP itself, NetSuite or another full ERP remains the better fit.
Is NetSuite overkill for a 50-person company? It can be. NetSuite is built for companies that need consolidation, multiple currencies and a broad suite. A 50-person company in one country often uses a small part of it, while still paying for the implementation that makes it fit.
Does AxisIQ support multiple subsidiaries or currencies? Each organisation is one company with its own database. Values carry their own currency, but there is no automatic FX conversion and no consolidation across organisations.
How does Axis compare with NetSuite's AI? Both can answer questions in natural language, and NetSuite has introduced agents. Axis is one assistant over one model that creates and changes records, builds fields and flows, and sends messages or payment links, always as the asking person, with single-use confirmations before guarded actions and every change audited.
How long does it take to move from NetSuite to AxisIQ? The workspace itself can be built in a single setup conversation. Data moves as CSV exports from saved searches, up to 500 rows per import, and most teams run both systems through one cycle before switching.
