Spending limits per person
Set a monthly AI spending limit for everyone or per person, get alerts at 80% and at the limit, and see your own use.
Set a monthly limit on how much each person can use Ask Axis, so a runaway chat or a busy WhatsApp thread cannot eat the workspace's AI allowance.
Before you start: setting limits needs Full control on the Ask Axis assistant app on the Roles page; the owner can always do it. Anyone can see their own use.
Set a limit for everyone
- Open Settings › AI usage.
- In Spending limits per person, click Set default.
- Enter an amount per month in rupees and click Save. Leave it empty for no limit.
The default applies to everyone without a limit of their own — except the owner, who is never limited by the default.

Set a limit for one person
- Click Change on their row.
- Enter their amount and click Save. It replaces the default for them. To give them no limit, save it empty.
- To put them back on the default, click Use workspace default.
Their row shows set for them under the limit. To limit the owner, set a limit on the owner's own row.
How use is measured
Each person's use since the 1st of the month (UTC) is valued at the AI token prices on Usage and allowances — ₹0.50 per 1,000 tokens in, ₹2.50 per 1,000 out. It is a yardstick for limits only: your bill still follows your plan. Setting up a new workspace with Ask Axis does not count.
The Used bar turns amber at 80% and red at the limit.
What happens at 80% and at the limit
- At 80%, the person and the workspace owner get a notification.
- At the limit, they are both notified again, and Ask Axis stops taking new messages from that person — in the app and on WhatsApp — until the 1st or until their limit is raised. The message tells them their limit.
- Each notice is sent once a month. Raising the limit sends them again when the new limit is reached.
Flows and the AI buttons inside apps keep working at the limit; only chatting with Ask Axis stops.
See your own use
Everyone sees Your AI use this month at the top of Settings › AI usage: what they have used, their limit, and how close they are.
