Payment links
Create a payment link for an amount or an invoice, share it, then refresh or cancel it and follow it to a payment record.
A payment link is a web address your customer opens to pay on Razorpay's hosted page. You can make one for any amount, or for an invoice.
Before you start: you need Can collect under Collecting payments on the Roles page, and at least one connection. See Connect Razorpay. With no connection, Collect a payment shows "Connect a payment provider first — links are collected through it" and takes you to Connections.
Create a link
- Open Invoices & Payments and click Collect a payment at the top right. From the overview you can also click Collect on an overdue invoice, which fills the invoice in for you.
- In Collect a payment, fill in the form:
Field Notes Collect through The connection to use, shown as "name (mode)". The first one is preselected. Invoice (optional) Search and pick an invoice. You can only pick invoices you are allowed to read. Amount A positive decimal such as 1499.00. Leave it blank when an invoice is chosen to use the invoice amount.Currency Three letters, for example INR. Blank uses the invoice's currency, otherwise your workspace's default currency.Description What the payment is for. Redirect URL (optional) Overrides where this customer lands after paying. Customer name, Email, Phone Optional. Razorpay also sends the link by email and SMS when you give an email or phone. - Click Create link.
- The dialog says "Payment link created. Share it with your customer." Click Copy link, Open, or Done. Share the address by email, WhatsApp or anywhere else.
If the amount is empty with no invoice, or not a positive number, you see "amount must be a positive decimal".
Where the customer lands after paying
AxisIQ uses the first of these that is set:
- The link's own Redirect URL.
- The connection's Default redirect URL.
- The AxisIQ receipt page, which says Payment received, or Payment not completed if it did not go through.
Razorpay adds the result (razorpay_payment_link_status) to your own redirect URL, so your page can show success or failure. A redirect URL must be a full http:// or https:// address.
What happens when it is paid
- Razorpay tells AxisIQ, and AxisIQ re-checks the link with Razorpay. Only a link Razorpay confirms as paid is settled.
- A payment record is created with the amount, today's date as Received at, the Method (cash, card, bank, upi, wallet, netbanking or other), and your invoice when the link was made from one.
- The link status changes to paid.
- The invoice's own status is not changed. Mark it paid yourself.
The link list
Payment links shows every link, newest first, 50 at a time. Click Load more for older ones.
| Column | Shows |
|---|---|
| Created | The date. |
| Amount | Amount with currency. |
| Customer | The customer name, else email, else the description. |
| Status | created (waiting), paid, expired or cancelled. |
Right-click a row, or click its ⋯ button, for:
- Copy link and Open (anyone who can see links).
- Refresh status — for links still
created. Asks Razorpay now and settles the link if it is paid. Use it if the webhook was missed. - Cancel link — for links still
created. Confirm with Cancel link. The link stops accepting payments.
Important: Cancelling cannot be undone. Create a new link if you change your mind.
Tips
- Fill in Email or Phone so Razorpay can send the link for you.
- A link made from an invoice reads the invoice under your own permissions.
