Broadcasts
Send one email, SMS or WhatsApp message to every record that matches a filter — now or at a set time — with a test send, opt-outs skipped and delivery counts.
A broadcast sends one message to a group of your records — for example a Diwali offer to every customer in Pune, or a payment reminder to every account with dues. You pick the record type, filter it, choose the field with the phone number or email, and send now or later.
Before you start: you need Full control under Messaging on the account you send through. If you don't see this yet, the owner applies the waiting workspace upgrade — see Upgrade your workspace.
Create a broadcast
- Open Messaging › Broadcasts and click New broadcast.
- Give it a Name, for example "Diwali offer", and choose Send through — the account to use.
- Under Message, pick a Template, or Write it here with a Subject (email) and Message. Values from each record can be filled in, for example
{{.record.values.name}}. For a template with numbered variables, list them under Template variables, one per line, in the template's order. - Under Audience, pick the Records type, add filters, and choose the Phone number field or Email address field.
- Check the count: "1,240 people will get it · 12 records have no address · e.g. …". Opted-out and bounced addresses are skipped automatically, and the same address is messaged only once.
- Leave Send at empty to send now, or pick a date and time.
- Click Send (or Schedule) and confirm. Or click Save draft to finish later.
Rules by channel
- WhatsApp — only with a template that Meta has approved. AxisIQ checks the approval with Meta when you send.
- SMS through MSG91 — only with a template that has its DLT template id.
- Email — an unsubscribe link is added if your message does not have one.
Who gets it
The audience is the records you can open. Records you cannot see are never messaged, and fields hidden from you cannot be used in the message. A broadcast scheduled for later is worked out again at send time, with your access at that moment. Up to 50,000 records per broadcast — narrow the filter if more match.
Follow and manage broadcasts
The list shows each broadcast with Status (Draft, Scheduled, Sending, Sent, Cancelled, Failed) and its counts: Sent, Delivered, Failed and Not sent (opted out or bounced, no address, or duplicates). Every message also appears in Activity.
Open a broadcast's menu for:
- Send now… — send a draft.
- Send a test… — send one copy to an address you type, filled in from the first matching record. It does not count.
- Cancel — messages not yet handed to your provider are not sent. Ones already sent cannot be recalled.
- Delete — the messages it sent stay in Activity.
Messages go out at a steady pace — about 10 a second — so a large broadcast takes a few minutes.
