Keep selling when the internet drops

How the register keeps taking cash and card sales without a connection, saves them on the device and syncs them in order when the connection is back.

If the shop's internet drops, the register keeps working. Cash and card sales are saved on the counter's device and sent to AxisIQ, in order, as soon as the connection is back. Nothing is entered twice, even if a sale was half-sent when the connection went.

Before you start: open the register while you are online, so it can keep a copy of your catalog. Then keep the register tab open — if you close or reload it while offline, it cannot open again until the connection is back. If you don't see this yet, the owner applies the waiting workspace upgrade — see Upgrade your workspace.

What happens when you go offline

  1. A yellow banner says "Offline — cash and card sales are saved on this device. Keep this tab open until the connection is back."
  2. The scan box still finds items: the register keeps a copy of up to 5,000 catalog items, refreshed when you open it and every 10 minutes.
  3. Ring up the sale and click Charge as usual, by Cash or Card.
  4. A Sale saved offline window shows the total and "Offline sale #N is saved on this device and will sync when the connection is back". Click Print receipt — the receipt says "Offline sale #N — will sync" — then New sale.

Note: UPI QR is hidden while offline, because a UPI payment needs a live connection. The register says "UPI needs a connection — it comes back when the network does." Take cash or card instead.

When the connection comes back

  • Waiting sales are sent by themselves, oldest first, and again every 30 seconds while any are left. You see "3 offline sales synced".
  • Click Sync now on the banner to send them straight away.
  • Each synced sale keeps the time it was rung up, and shows an Offline badge in Sales.
  • An offline sale is accepted even if your stock records say the item had run out, because the goods have already left the shop.

Sales that need attention

If AxisIQ refuses a sale when it syncs — for example because the register was disabled meanwhile — the banner turns red and says how many need attention.

  1. Click Review on the banner. Offline sales lists every waiting sale with #, Sold, Total and State (the reason it was refused).
  2. Fix the cause, then click Retry.
  3. If you have already entered the sale some other way, click Discard and confirm Discard sale. A discarded sale is never recorded, so only do this when the money is accounted for elsewhere.

Limits

  • Offline sales must sync within 7 days.
  • Waiting sales live in that one browser on that one device. Clearing the browser's data before they sync loses them.
