What Ask Axis can do

The kinds of work Ask Axis can do for you, grouped by area, and the one rule that limits all of them: your own permissions.

Ask Axis can read and change things in your workspace on your behalf. Every action is checked against your role first. If you could not do it by hand, Ask Axis cannot do it either, and it tells you it was refused rather than claiming success.

What it can do

Area Examples of what you can ask
Records List the record types, describe one, search records, read one, create, update or delete a record, add up to 50 records at once, delete up to 100 at once.
Workspace setup Read how the workspace is built, create or delete a menu group, create, change or delete a record type, add or remove a field, write field and workspace descriptions, set the workspace currency.
Analytics Read the data layout, run a query and show it as a table or chart, list, create, change or delete saved queries, list indexes and add one, list and save report pages (dashboards).
Functions List, read, create, change, delete and run your functions.
Flows List, read, save or delete flows.
Roles List, save or delete roles (permission groups).
Knowledge Search the knowledge base and cite where an answer came from.
Payments List your payment connections and create a payment link.
Messaging List your channels and message templates, and send a message.
Documents List your PDF templates and generate a document from a record.
Calendar List calendars and events, create, change or delete an event, find times that suit several people.
Team Invite someone by email into named roles.
Outside tools Anything your connected tool servers provide. See Connectors.

Which areas are available depends on what is set up in your workspace and which apps are switched on.

What it will always ask you first

Sending money links, sending messages, inviting people and deleting things never happen on the assistant's say-so alone. You approve each one. See Confirmations and questions.

What it will not do

  • Anything outside your permissions. A denied action is reported as a failed step in the answer.
  • Create a record type, field, flow or role in a way your workspace rules reject. It shows the reason and may retry with a fix.
  • Remember things between chats beyond the saved messages of the chat you continue.

Tips

  • For product questions ("how does billing work?") Ask Axis searches the AxisIQ knowledge base and answers from it.
  • For your own documents and records it uses the knowledge base too, but only what you are allowed to read. See Knowledge Base.
  • You do not need the exact names. Ask in business words; it looks up the right record type first.
